Release Blitz - Old Fashioned (Becker Brothers #4) by Kandi Steiner

The epic finale of the Becker Brothers series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone.

It’s a man’s world.

When I declared sports medicine as my major and every man narrowed their eyes, that saying proved true. It was true when my ex-husband decided I’d give up my career when our daughter was born. And again when I divorced the Chief of Police in our small town, and he made it painfully clear that I could leave him, but I would never be free.

Landing the job as the new athletic trainer for Stratford’s high school team is my chance to start over. And walking into a male-dominated sport and staff, I’m ready for the challenge.

I’m not ready for Jordan Becker.

The head coach of our championship winning team is a Herculean force of nature—as severe as he is determined. His icy blue eyes and permanent scowl drive the women in this town mad, and his quiet power and undeniable command conjure respect from every man.

When I join his team, I expect the doubt and anticipate the fight from him. And I get them both.

I don’t expect to form a friendship.

And I never expect to fall for him.

My breath catches when those cool eyes fall to my lips. My body comes alive when his is near. And as those lines begin to blur, every warning bell sounds.

My job, my reputation are on the line.
And my ex is around every corner, waiting to remind me of his power.

It’s a man’s world, and if I want to survive, I can never fall in love with Jordan Becker.

Even if he falls in love with me first.

 Review

I really loved this series so much, from the first book to this last one. You know, when you have a great series and every time a new book goes live you are worried that it won't be as good as the others? Or even worse, when there's a continuous thread running through all of the books and you know that this last book will be the one where everything will be revealed and you are really worried  that it will disappoint you? Yep. That's how I felt - and trust me, none of it happened and I absolutely enjoyed reading this book!

The Becker Brothers and those who they love are a force to be reckoned with - and I adored the way the brothers cared for their mother! It's a wonderful family whose lives aren't always easy but always full of love, loyalty and respect for each other and those around them.

I was very curious about, well, you know what about, right? If you don't know what I'm talking about, you haven't read the other books so...go back, start at the beginning, they are absolutely worth it and you don't want to spoil it, right?!
When we finally, finally learned what exactly happened that night when... - my heart broke for these men and their mother and when more secrets were revealed...oh my... But all is well that finally ends well and you don't have to worry, this book has a perfect HEA - and I already know that I haven't read these books for the last time!

Audiobook - The Perfect First (Fulton U #1) by Maya Hughes

NOW AVAILABLE ON AUDIO!

Audiobook,

narrated by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder

SYNOPSIS

"How long do you last in bed?" Those were her first words to me, swiftly followed up with, "And how big would you say you are?"
Cue the record scratching, what?
Persephone Alexander. Math genius. Lover of blazers. The only girl I know who can make Heidi braids look sexy as hell. And she's on a mission. Lose her virginity by the end of the semester.
I walked in on her interview session for potential candidates (who even does that?) and saw straight through her brave front. She's got a list of firsts to accomplish like she's only got months to live.
I've decided to be her guide for all her firsts, except one. Someone's got to keep her out of trouble. I have one rule, no sex. We even shook on it.
I'll help her find the right guy for the job. Someone like her doesn't need someone like me and my massive...baggage for her first time.★
Drinking at a bar. Check.
Partying all night. Double check.
Skinny dipping. Triple check.
She's unlike anyone I've ever met. The walls I'd put up around my heart are slowly crumbling with each touch that sets fire to my soul.
I'm the first to bend the rules. One electrifying kiss changes everything, and suddenly, I don't want to be her first, I want to be her only. But her plan was written before I came onto the scene, and now, I'm determined to get her to rewrite her future with me.

 REVIEW

This audiobook is once again a definite proof that a good narration can make a really good book even better. I loved and enjoyed The Perfect First when I first read it but I enjoyed it, even more, when I was listening to this amazing narration. This is one of those narrations that I will definitely listen to again and again.

I loved to see Persephone blossom and learn to live life the way she wants to live it. To see her claim her life and fall in love with Reece, one "first" after the other. And Reece, well, I think he wasn't really prepared for someone like Seph but who could resist such a charming introduction?

This was a story that drew me in right from the start. The characters are wonderful, they are very authentic and likable and the whole story was very warm and sweet. I also loved the secondary characters a lot who were also well developed and authentic. Some of them we will meet again in the next books of this series that I have also read and really enjoyed. Interesting stories with a unique twist and a lot of charm and humor. I can't wait to listen to the next books in audio as well!

COVER REVEAL - Five First Dates by Erin McCarthy #FiveFirstDates

Five First Dates, an all-new standalone brother's best friend rom-com from New York Times bestselling author Erin McCarthy, is coming March 23rd and .....

*drum rooooolllll*

this is the amazing cover!

Every perfect rom-com has a twist that leads the heroine to her happily ever after.

Me? Somehow, in any room full of prince charmings, I always manage to find the one frog.

So this time, I’ve found my own twist. Four of my friends will each set me up. Four first dates. Four chances at my own happily-ever-after.

My brother’s best friend even offered to watch my baby while I’m out finding true love.

Only Maddox has sure grown up since I saw him last. The guy next door now looks more like the guy on a magazine cover. He’s inked and sexy. Muscular. Utterly irresistible. And… big.

Surely having a brother’s-friend-with-benefits won’t hurt my search for Mr. Right.

Especially if he’s my fifth first date...

Release Blitz - The Second Time Around by Jessica Prince #The SecondTimeAround

Tessa Day had clung to the notion of a once-in-a-lifetime love for as long as she could remember. Then, one chance encounter led her to the man of her dreams. After a whirlwind romance that could only be described as something out of a fairytale, she gave her heart to her other half, only to have him throw it back like it meant nothing.
Bryce Dixon was known as the care-free funny guy with a heart of gold. But it was all a façade. For more than ten years, he’d been holding on to guilt that was slowly eating him alive. He blamed himself for things in his past, and as punishment for his sins, he walked away from the only woman he’d ever loved.
But when Tessa shows up in Hope Valley, Bryce begins to think that maybe he’s been given a second chance. However, when danger comes calling, he soon discovers he’s in for the fight of his life. Not only does he have to protect the woman who holds his heart, but he also has to convince her that he can get things right the second time around.
The Hope Valley series is a series of interconnected,
                                                       standalone, small town romances.

I've read and loved all of the books in the Hope Valley series (and other books by Jessica Prince) but I absolutely loved the intensity and the story of this wonderful second chance story. As much as I've ranted and raved at Bryce and his actions - the more we got to know him, the more I understood him. I was still mad at him but I understood him. Almost.
Nevertheless, I was really happy when slowly, very slowly Tessa and Bryce start to overcome the problems of their past and to build a life for themselves. Together. Finally, after so much time...
Tessa is new in town, she is working for Hope House, the new place for foster kids that we saw built in the last books in this series. I love Tessa's dedication to those kids and her fervor when she fights for those kids no matter who tries to hurt them. And, of course, then there is Bryce with whom she shares more than just a couple of sweet memories and who is determined not to let his chance slip by. Most of the time.
It takes a village to...well, not exactly to raise a child in this case but the whole group of friends is once more working together to help one of their own to find happiness and a partner for life. And if there are no wedding bells at the horizon...oh, well, perhaps there's a reason for that, right?

But first she’s going to have to fight for it.

With graduation looming, Romy will be put to the test both in and out of the classroom, but as the final strands of this tangled web comes together, the biggest thing Romy will have to learn is to share the weight of war with the people she considers family.

Review

Okay, seriously, even though I threatened to either wreck my kindle or go and hunt down the authors to get the next book like yesterday when the first book finished with a cliffhanger only to go through the same again when the second book ended on another cliffhanger - at least not as big as the last one, I would suffer through all of this again for this series.

These books are simply amazing and this third book, what a firework of humor and action once again. I loved the characters, the storyline and everything in between. This book was another nail-biting, teeth-gritting, obscenities-shouting laugh-out-loud story that kept me glued to my reader from the first page to the very last. And when it was over - well, GIVE ME MORE!!!

I really loved this book. It is a fitting conclusion to a wonderful series that I will definitely read again and again because of its originality, its sassiness, and its wit. I can't wait to see what this amazing author duo will come up with next!

BLOG TOUR - The Hookup Equation by Roxie Noir #TheHookupEquation

Teach me everything.

The Hookup Equation, an all-new romantic comedy that is “filled to the brim with laughs and emotion” from Roxie Noir, is available now!

Synopsis

My whole life, I’ve been a good girl. I follow rules like nobody’s business. I obey guidelines like I was born to it. Show me a line, and I’ll toe it.
I’m even a twenty-two-year-old virgin. Good is my middle name.
And then, I break one tiny little rule. Miniscule. Inconsequential.
Next thing I know, I’m trapped with an incredibly handsome stranger. He’s got eyes like cut emeralds, biceps that makes my head spin, and a smile that has me rethinking all my life choices.
We escape a bar bathroom together. We go on an impromptu date. We share the hottest kiss I’ve ever had, one that leaves me panting for more. We promise to see each other again.
Turns out, we see each other the next morning.
In my calculus class.
Which he’s teaching.
My handsome, sexy date is Professor Loveless, and we’ll be seeing each other plenty. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday all semester.
There’s no choice but to call it off. We both have too much at stake: I could lose my scholarship, and he could lose his entire career.
But I can’t call off the way I feel.
I can’t call off the way he looks when he rolls up his sleeves and explains imaginary numbers.
I can’t call off the heated glances, or the way our hands touch when I hand in my homework, or the memory of his body pressing against mine that night.
I’m a virgin.
He’s my professor.
And if we give in, it could cost us both everything.
But I’m so tired of being a good girl.

 Review

I enjoyed reading this book though I must admit that I wasn't intrigued but rather frustrated by the situation. As they met before they knew who and what they were to each other, I didn't feel that it was forbidden but I was upset that they couldn't be together despite the fact that they were meant to be and despite their chemistry.

The book started out really strong, I laughed a lot and enjoyed their witty
banter. I felt with them and felt for them when they realized that they couldn't date but the book didn't completely absorb me. When everything imploded and their lives went to hell - or did they?...well, you'll have to read it to find out about it! Let's just say I cheered for them and was really happy when they found a solution to their situation and a way to stay together, no matter how hard and how difficult it was after everything that happened.

Once again, I enjoyed the relationship between the brothers as well as the interactions between the hero and the heroine. Nice and charming characters and an interesting story - try it, I'm sure you will enjoy this story!

Excerpt

I’m sorry I was a jerk on Friday night,” I start over, moving closer. “I still think that what I said was valid, but I didn’t have to —"
He steps closer, leans in.
“—I didn’t have to be an asshole about it,” I say into his ear.
I think I deserved it,” he says. His lips brush my ear, and my eyes flutter closed.
Don’t, I tell myself. Don’t do a single thing that isn’t apologizing for your behavior.
As if I didn’t seek him out. As if I didn’t drag him into this tiny, cramped back staircase.
No, you were right,” I tell him, automatically reaching out, steadying myself against his shoulder. “I found you at the banquet. I kissed you later. I gave you a bottle of wine.”
But I’m the one who should know better,” he says, and then his hand is on mine, holding it against his warm chest. My heart beats harder, faster.
You think I don’t?”
I shouldn’t be giving you rides and walking you home,” he goes on. “Pretending that those things are perfectly fine and innocent, because they’re not.”
We shift in the tiny space and suddenly our bodies are touching from shoulder to hip, the jolt of his heat like an electric current.
We shouldn’t be seeing each other at all,” I tell him, even as I close my eyes, press myself into him so softly I can tell myself I’m not doing anything, my lips millimeters from his ear.
No,” he says. “The more I see you the harder it is to pretend I don’t like you.”
A hand on my hip, his fingers touching bare skin above my too-small shorts.
And the harder it is to pretend I don’t want you,” he whispers.
My heart’s beating so hard and fast that it feels like my ribcage is rattling in my body. Outside and from above, the organ hums thickly, surrounding us.
What if it were my fault?” I ask.
What do you mean?”
I know I should walk away. I know that. I know my coworker Nathaniel got expelled for sexual misconduct and while I have no intention of making porn, I’m fairly certain that sleeping with my professor also falls into that category.
I know he could get fired and his career could be over.
I know a million things wrong with this scenario, and not one of them stops me.
I mean,” I say, and plant a kiss on his neck, right below his jaw. His fingers curl into my spine.
What if —" another kiss, higher up, “— it were my fault?”
The last kiss lands on his jawline, right below his ear, my fingers now woven through his hair, his slight stubble sharp on my lips.
He moves his hand until his palm is flat on my back, in the space between the shorts and my vest, underneath the jacket I’m still wearing. He swallows hard, his breath on my neck.
Then his hand is on my face, his thumb stroking my jaw, and he pulls me back, his green eyes nearly black in the dark, his lips parted, his gaze roaming my face. I don’t breathe. I don’t think my heart beats.
And he kisses me.
