Blog Tour - Insolent by T L Smith

BLOG TOUR

The story:

Love had cut me in so many ways I wondered if my heart could take any more.

But then I saw him.

He was my boss.

A single father.

And to top it off he was insolent.

I didn’t intend to want him, that wasn’t my objective. But somehow I couldn’t say no.

We shouldn’t have worked, but like witchcraft, I was under his spell.

My heart’s been destroyed before, I’m not sure it can handle heartbreak again.

This book and I, we had a bit of a hard time. Even though I really loved the characters and
their chemistry, I loved the way those two always provoked each other, always tried to get a rise out of the other and how they fought their attraction, I had a problem with the initial story of Darby and Chloe.  It didn't make sense to me no matter how much I thought about it and all those questions that I had, kept popping up while I was reading. There were also some scenes later on that felt a bit forced but on the whole, I liked the book and enjoyed reading it. Darby and Olympia's story is stormy and rocky and both have to learn to trust and to let the other into their lives and into their hearts.  Blue, our heroine Olympia, was a wonderful and sweet heroine with her own baggage that made me feel with her and, well, the one or the other handkerchief may have been involved as well.
On the whole, I liked the book despite my problems with some parts of it so it's three and a half stars, rounded up to four.
